Rhino and Lion Game Reserve/Park:
Situated northwest of Johannesburg within the beautiful Kromdraai Conservancy and the Cradle of Humankind. The Rhino and Lion game park is a privately owned, non-subsidized game reserve, covering approximately 1600 hectares of typical Highveld grassland founded in 1985 with the introduction of a pair of white rhinoceros. Today the game park houses over 700 head of game from 25 different species, including lion, white lion, cheetah, wild dog, hippopotamus, warthog, buffalo, wildebeest, crocodile and ostrich.
The Rhino and Lion Game Reserve/Park Wildlife Experience:
A mini safari with 3 of the big 5 - Lion, Rhino and Buffalo. As with the Lion Park, the Rhino and Lion game Park is ideally situated close to Johannesburg so if your time in Johannesburg is short, this park is ideal to provide you with a fantastic introduction to South Africa's predators and wild life. The Rhino & Lion Nature Game Reserve/Park, as with the Lion Park tour, is not intended to replace a Pilanesberg or Kruger National Park Safari but provides an opportunity to experience lions and wild life in a manner that you may not have been able to do before.
The antelope species include springbok, waterbuck, red hartebeest, blesbok and eland. There is also 200 species of birds. A "vulture restaurant" has been opened in the reserve, often catering for as many as 200 vultures. All the predators are enclosed separately from other wildlife and are thus fed but this does not detract from the overall experience.
At the Rhino and Lion Reserve, the Lion cub encounter is not included in the price.
The most poached animal in South Africa - the Rhino
Over 700 head of game from 25 different species
